Introduction:
The Sonel KUS Series Acoustic Imagers are advanced diagnostic tools designed to identify acoustic emission sources and help significantly reduce energy losses. They operate in two detection modes: leak detection and partial discharge detection (PD), making them suitable for a wide range of industrial and power utility applications. Users can manually adjust the detected frequency range and sensitivity level to minimize unwanted reflections and interference, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements. A touch-screen interface and a convenient strap integrated into the housing further enhance ease of use and portability. Equipped with built-in microphone arrays—64 microphones in the KUS-100 and 136 microphones in the KUS-200—the imagers effectively locate acoustic emission sources such as compressed-air and gas leaks in industrial installations, as well as partial discharges (PD) in high-voltage equipment.
The KUS Series is particularly suitable for:
Bluetooth connectivity allows the detected acoustic signals to be transmitted to external audio devices, including speakers and wireless headphones, enabling convenient real-time monitoring. In addition to locating acoustic sources, the device can estimate and display the leak rate, leakage level and potential cost of the detected loss. These calculations can be customized according to the selected time unit, unit price and currency, providing valuable information for assessing energy losses and supporting maintenance and cost-saving decisions.
