Introduction:
The Thermo Spot-B series comprises self-adhesive surface temperature monitoring labels designed for use on busbars and other electrical equipment. Using patented thermochromic technology, these easy-to-install labels provide a permanent, colour-changing visual indication of elevated temperatures caused by electrical overload, deterioration, or other potential faults. The labels provide 24/7 monitoring and a clear visual indication of abnormal temperature conditions before they may lead to equipment failure or fire. They are ideal for use as part of routine electrical inspections to enhance electrical safety, reliability and preventative maintenance.
Installation:
Peel the Thermo Spot-B label from the backing paper, Apply the label to a clean, dry surface free from dust and grease, Position the label on the external surface of the busbar or other electrical equipment, ensure that the label remains clearly visible during normal operation, avoid touching, scratching, or otherwise damaging the indicator surface. The indicator spot will change colour from pink to red when the surface temperature reaches the 52°C setpoint. If the indicator turns red, switch off the appliance or equipment where safe to do so and seek advice from a competent electrician. For indoor use only.
Suitable Applications:
These labels are designed for application to the external plastic surfaces of electrical plugs, adaptors, extension sockets, household sockets, busbars and general electrical equipment, where direct visual monitoring of surface temperature is possible.
Limitations and Important Information
Safety:
A red indicator should be treated as an early warning of an elevated surface temperature condition. Where an indicator changes to red, the equipment should be assessed by a competent electrician before being returned to normal operation.
