An ACB Panel (Air Circuit Breaker Panel) is a high-capacity low-voltage (LT) electrical distribution panel that houses Air Circuit Breakers to handle, distribute, and protect high electrical currents. Typically operating at 415V to 690V AC and managing massive loads ranging from 800A to 6,300A, it acts as the primary safety shield and distribution center for large-scale power infrastructure. 

An ACB panel acts as the main incomer panel (receiving power from a transformer or generator) and safely routes it to sub-panels. It provides crucial safeguards: 

  • Overcurrent & Overload Protection: Trips if downstream demand exceeds safe operational limits.
  • Short-Circuit Protection: Instantly cuts off power during high-current short circuits to prevent fire and system damage.
  • Earth Fault Protection: Identifies current leaking to the ground to shield personnel and machinery.
  • Voltage Safeguards: Safely trips the network during hazardous over-voltage or under-voltage anomalies.
  • Arc Quenching: Uses atmospheric air pressure within a dedicated "arc chute" to cool, stretch, and extinguish massive plasma arcs generated when isolating faults.
