MULTIMETER

MULTIMETER

Introduction:

The Sonel CMM Advanced Industrial Multimeter is a professional measuring instrument designed to diagnose potential problems and irregularities in the operation of electromechanical equipment, industrial automation systems, motors and power distribution equipment. Combining high measurement accuracy, safety in demanding industrial environments and ease of use, the CMM is an ideal tool for detecting faults at an early stage and supporting efficient maintenance and service operations.

Versatile and equipped with a wide range of advanced measurement functions, the Sonel CMM is suitable not only for electricians, but also for service technicians, automotive garages, maintenance professionals and specialists working across the industrial sector. The multi-meter features built-in memory and a dedicated Trend Capture function, allowing users to record and monitor measurement data over time. Up to 10,000 measurement results can be stored, making it possible to quickly identify irregularities and analyse changes in measured parameters.

The instrument can record minimum and maximum values and calculate the average of measured values, providing a comprehensive overview of equipment performance. Measurement results can be transferred for further analysis using the dedicated CMM-60 Multimeter Software. The Sonel CMM also supports real-time transmission of measurement results to Android mobile devices via the Sonel Multimeter Mobile application, as well as to a computer running the CMM-60 Multimeter Software.

The CMM provides more than 14 measurement functions, including:

  • AC and DC voltage measurement
  • AC and DC current measurement
  • Resistance measurement
  • Capacitance measurement
  • Temperature measurement
  • Frequency measurement
  • Pulse-width measurement
  • Duty-cycle measurement
  • 4–20 mA current-loop measurement
  • Additional functions for advanced diagnostics

True RMS measurement of AC voltage and current enables accurate determination of the effective value of distorted waveforms, which is particularly important when working with modern electronic and industrial equipment. The meter can also measure both the DC and AC components of voltage, while its filtering capabilities help eliminate high-frequency interference generated by electronic machines and devices, ensuring reliable voltage measurements in demanding industrial environments. The dedicated 4–20 mA current-loop function allows technicians to work with analogue circuits used to control temperature, pressure, humidity, flow and other process sensors. The instrument displays the measured current as a percentage corresponding to the relevant current-loop value, simplifying diagnostics and commissioning. The 500μA current measurement range is particularly useful for service applications requiring the measurement of very small currents, such as testing real-time clock backup systems or maintaining flame-sensor circuits in combustion equipment. The PEAK function enables the capture of fast transient signals and records waveform peaks with a response time of up to 1ms, helping technicians identify short-duration irregularities that could otherwise be difficult to detect. The REL (Relative) measurement function makes it possible to eliminate unwanted reference values, such as the resistance of test leads, improving measurement accuracy in practical service applications.

The Auto-Hold function automatically retains a stable measurement reading on the display, allowing users to work comfortably with both hands when carrying out measurements.

A 3.5-inch colour display with a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels provides clear visibility and a wide viewing angle, making the instrument easy to read in a variety of working conditions.

The specially designed rotary selector switch enables convenient operation even when wearing thick protective gloves, making the meter well suited to industrial environments.

A built-in real-time clock allows the date and time to be associated with each recorded measurement, providing accurate documentation and traceability of test results.

The integrated HELP function provides quick explanations of individual measurement functions and buttons, helping users operate the instrument efficiently without having to constantly consult the manual. The Sonel CMM is built to withstand demanding industrial working conditions. Its extremely robust housing provides IP67 protection, offering a high level of resistance against dust ingress and water penetration.

A dedicated lithium-polymer battery provides long operating time, while the supplied charger and power adapter allow the battery to be charged without removing it from the instrument.
