A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Panel, also known as an AC drive or inverter panel, is an electronic power control assembly that regulates the speed, torque, and direction of an AC induction motor by varying the frequency and voltage of the power supplied to it. By allowing motors to run at the exact speed required by the load rather than at fixed full speed, VFD panels deliver significant energy savings — particularly in pump, fan, and compressor applications where energy consumption reduces dramatically at lower speeds. They also provide smooth, controlled motor starting that eliminates inrush current, reduces mechanical stress, and extends motor and equipment life significantly.
