Introduction:

The Sonel PAT-96 is an advanced electrical safety meter designed for comprehensive testing of welding machines and a wide range of electrical equipment, including power tools, three-phase appliances, and domestic devices. It is particularly suited for applications where electrical safety is critical and is specifically designed for testing welding equipment in accordance with the EN 60974-4 standard. The instrument enables reliable measurement of parameters that directly affect the safe operation of equipment, including protective conductor resistance, insulation resistance, continuity of connections, substitute, differential and touch leakage currents, functional performance, power, and RCD/PRCD operation. For welding equipment, the PAT-96 can measure rated voltage under no-load conditions, welding circuit leakage current, and primary leakage current, providing a comprehensive assessment of equipment safety.

The PAT-96 features a wide power supply range of 95–265 V and supports the testing of equipment supplied at 110 V and 230 V, 50/60 Hz. Its built-in measurement procedure wizard and intuitive user interface make testing fast, efficient, and straightforward, while the integrated help system assists users during measurements. The instrument also supports automated test procedures, providing greater flexibility and consistency when carrying out repetitive inspections. For efficient asset management and recordkeeping, the PAT-96 can work with an optional label printer and QR code scanner. It can generate initial measurement reports and QR-code labels containing unique device identification data, which can subsequently be scanned and stored in the instrument's memory. The meter's memory uses a convenient tree structure consisting of folders, objects, and individual devices, allowing each tested device to be associated with its description, measurement location, customer information, and registration number. All of this is housed in a compact and durable enclosure that provides reliable protection during both measurement activities and transportation, making the Sonel PAT-96 a practical and dependable solution for professional electrical equipment safety inspections.
