A Real Time Power Factor Correction (RTPFC) panel is an advanced power factor correction system that uses thyristor switched capacitors (TSC) to provide ultra-fast, dynamic reactive power compensation in less than 20 milliseconds. Unlike conventional APFC panels that use contactors for switching — which can cause transients and are slower — RTPFC panels use back-to-back SCR thyristors for zero-crossing switching, eliminating inrush currents and voltage transients entirely. This makes them ideal for rapidly fluctuating loads such as arc furnaces, welding machines, rolling mills, and other industrial equipment where instantaneous power factor correction is critical.
