LEAKAGE CURRENT ALARM DEVICE

Introduction:

The Sonel MPU-1 leakage current alarm device is designed for continuous monitoring and measurement of leakage current in AC low- and medium-voltage power networks. It enables users to assess the safety status of a monitored electrical installation based on the level of leakage current flowing through the system.

The MPU-1 allows the user to set a safe leakage-current threshold. When the measured current exceeds the pre-set alarm level, the instrument activates both visual and audible alarms, providing immediate indication of a potentially unsafe condition.

Key Features:

• Continuous monitoring of alternating current flowing through earthing/grounding conductors.
• Measurement using one or two current clamps simultaneously. When two clamps are used, their measured current values are summed, allowing measurement of split poles using independent clamps for each conductor.
• Visual indication of the operating mode via diode indicators.
• Visual and audible alarm when the measured leakage current exceeds the pre-set threshold. The factory-set alarm threshold is 1 A.
• Rogowski-coil measurements using the flexible Sonel F-series coil, with a maximum coil length of 2 m.
• Suitable for measurements in low- and medium-voltage AC networks operating at 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
• Automatic measurement-range selection for convenient operation.
• Battery-level monitoring to help ensure reliable operation.
